Does anyone have any resources that may assist with the funding to acquire a patent for a product in the law enforcement and security industry sector?

I spent 5 years as the marketing director for a body-armor manufacturer and while employed I came up with an improved product that I would like to patent and resell to a manufacturer.

any insight would be helpfull
