Chippendales is apparently having trouble registering its “trademark” uniform worn by the male dancers.  What do YOU think?  When you see some buff dude with the bow tie and the cuffs, do YOU think, “Hey, I must be at Chippendales?” or do you think, “Hey, this is the general type of outfit worn by male strippers?”  In other words, is this uniform inherently distinctive of Chippendales specifically or male strippers in general?  I'm not sure if the picture is showing up below or not.  Here is the link.

While I can assure you that I didn't click on the link I personally think that they should be able to trademark that look.  Is the bunny tail trademarked? Eric

The analogy to the bunny tail is a fair one.  The bunny tail is arguably pretty distinctinve to the Playboy people.  James Lindon, Ph.D. Patent Attorney
