This is an excellent post to help people think about working smarter. It is clear that successful entrepreneurs get better margin from working smarter than working harder. Helping people address the vacation issue is a great place to start.

Creative, battery-recharging vacations are a necessity - not a luxury

The article above was part of the topic I discussed at a conference in Chicago for independent "creative types" a couple of months ago.  A well-planned vacation certainly can be a cost-effective method of "therapy."

Off to the Big Island of Hawaii for two weeks next month, my annual two week trip to St. Croix is already all booked (and paid for) for March, and 10 days of gold-mining in the Oregon's Wallowa Mountains is on the calendar for next summer.  Lots of three and four-day "runaways" throughout the year.

A stressed out, over-worked businessperson can't afford to not give themselves some time off.
