Many of you don’t know of me, but if you listened to the radio show interview I did with my brothers, you know I, too, am one of you. I’m an entrepreneur working from home.

I’ve come up with a new line of fashion accessories that are designed to spice up “the usual” outfits. Slip on cuffs, collars, sleeves, bands, etc., that make a plain shirt fun to wear.

I wanted to post a note of encouragement to all of you. I know how hard it is to get a business off the ground. And I know that some days it’s really a challenge to keep at it.

Last night I worked until midnight while my husband and children were sleeping upstairs. I was preparing samples for a tradeshow at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. I drove them to the tradeshow and delivered them to the booth where my sales reps were located. Of course, I was wearing my “Sleevettes,” and I’m thrilled to report that passers-by kept coming up to me to ask where I got my shirt. I’d pull up my sleeves and say, “It’s not the shirt you want to know about, it’s the ‘Sleevette’!”  The oohs and aahs that followed made it all worth it.  I felt like Sally Fields when she accepted the Academy Award “You like me…you really like me!!”

I am so excited to tell you that today, after many nights of burning the midnight oil, my reps booked orders from boutiques all over the Midwest

It’s woooooooorkiiiiiiiiiing!!!!  Even though I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home and get dinner going the minute I opened my garage door, I now walk around totally empowered, jazzed about what I’m doing and taking the mundane stuff of day to day life in stride.  It’s like I’m living a double life and when I think about my business, I get all happy inside…one of my favorite strategies while waiting in a long line at the grocery store check out counter.

Most of all I wanted to say thanks to you all for your peer support, for the advice that Tina gave me and others here, many of you have sent me new style ideas, feedback, suggestions and just really kind comments.  I want to send everyone this message:

KEEP GOING. YOU CAN DO IT, TOO!

Jules,

Congratulations on the success! It makes all your passion and desire worth it. I soon will have such success with Won't Be Denied Apparel. Reading such positive and encouraging things such as your words only ignite me to continue forward.

Shoot! I was excited when I got the chance to get on the air at Start Up Nation. Watch out when distribution, explosive sales, and high demand pave its way to me.

To you, ultimate passion and success

Jules, I can totally relate to that happy-inside feeling. It's so incredible to create something from scratch and have it accepted, and even loved! I work until midnight almost every night, but you're right - it's so worth it!

Your product is wonderful and I think it's great that you came on here to encourage us all. I hope we get some more homepreneurs on here and get a good support base going! Sometimes doing this can be a little lonely, so it would be nice to talk to others in the same boat.
