Hello to all you fine web folks under the SuN! I have been toiling away building a webstore that works with my website. One day, when my company grows up, I will have the honor of hiring someone expert. But for the first launch, here is the web presence for GreenBeans, and it works well with the brick and mortar aspects, which is the main objective right now.
Does it scream amateur? Is the store and site too disconnected? The url for the store has to change, but that is easier said than done, as it appears. As my hosting company works on that, and before I think I am in the homestretch and can just fine tune my product lisitings, promotions, and add add add, please let me know where I stand from you're perched!
Thanks a million!

I wanted to know more about Green Beans, so I clicked the "Get
Greenbeans for the Stuff you Buy" link, and got an "Unexpected Result"
error, with no page.
I think you should have content right on the front page, between the
left graphics and the right sign-up graphic, which explains in a
nutshell what are greenbeans. But I do like the graphics, and the site
looks nice and clean. :-)

The look is clean, simple, uncluttered, and the graphics are pretty good.
Having said that .... I have no idea what the true concept is just by reading the main page ..... to me, that's where the real message should come across, and fairly quickly.
I get that it has something to do with recycling, and shopping, and rewards ..... but I still have no clue what it really is, what it does, how it works .... or anything else.
Maybe it's just me that is missing the point, but if I don't "get it" on the first page, I probably won't look any farther.

Okay, mission one (and perpetual mission) to clarify what GreenBeans is all about and why you should join, shop, recycle & donate! Gotcha, am on it.
Mission 2: change url of store (done, didn't realize hence all of the dead links) please try again and lemme have it!
Thanks!

I agree... I do not know how it works. How do I get greenbeans? Do I send my recyclable item to you or someplace else? and most importantly what item(s) is recyclable?
I'm assuming the recyclable items are batteries - from cell phones, lap tops...etc. But just a guess.
Your shop is ok as far as being "connected" design-wise. There are however a few important pages that are blank... About Us, policies, and privacy.
Curiously, there is a link on the shop page for "members only catalog". If that is a marketing / benefit feature that should be explained- what the benefit is? What "membership" involves?

Thank you for the critique. I will continue to work on presenting clearer messages. There are 2 ways to get GreenBeans and 2 way to "spend" them. You get GreenBeans when you recycle (right now it is only cell phones and batteries but we are working on contracts for plastic bags &c) hence the vagueness is projected, but you are right, I must at least temporarily claify that. You can also get GreenBeans when you shop on the site (which right now only includes one product line but is already expanding as we are in the process of approving 2 newproduct lines) . At the end of each season you get your GreenBeans Rewards (an accumulation of the beans you've earned) to spend in the store or, anywhere paypal is accepted (our agreement is with paypal right now, but hopefully will break free one day!) OR you can donate your beans to a charity of your choice. I guess my challenge is taking that moutful and digesting it down to a few concise statements that convey this process clearly.
Will transfer the old About Us page to the new store site. Policies and Privacy are so important, can't believe I missed that! Thanks for the heads up, must be going snowblind!
I created the mebers only area to serve our wholesale network, but I have realized that there is no way to seperate the wholesale members from the regualr GB's members at this time so I should probably remove it.
I will continue to fine tune and welcome additional comments and updates!
Thank you so much for taking the time to help!

Don't explain it to us here, make it obvious on your site then ask us to look again.

Loud and clear Videography! Here we go...
Okay, so with CraigL's good sense advice to use the middle, I can see immediately what a difference that makes!
Now, the real question is what do we think about the words filling up the space? Listening cap is on!
Thanks!
