Here's the content you have on your home page:
CAKEY'S are baked when ordered and made from scratch in small batches. We believe the distinctive, extraordinary taste of each CAKEY will immediately tempt you, plain and simple. We are proud to offer high a quality product without the use of preservatives or artificial sweetners of any kind. They are individually packaged for freshness, nestled in a distinctive box and then shipped, wherever you please.
Cakey's are Very Light
Very Fresh
Very Delicious.

The problem is I have no idea What's a "Cakey?"

Yummy pictures are needed!  I agree, what's a Cakey?   High quality, no preservatives, packed for freshness,... are all great!!!!  Make it look yummier, and sell lots of Cakey's!   Good luck!

Your "About the Company" page is a real turnoff.  Mostly all of it.
I don't care if you're broke and hungry.  I don't care if all your other businesses and relationships have filed Chapter 11.  I really couldn't care less if you think that your business is a divine inspiration.  In fact, everything you say about your business tells me that this enterprise won't be around very long.

Your About page is not supposed to be a personal confessional.  That you tried experimenting with family recipes and the kids experimented with different toppings is good detail.  Expand on that.  You don't need to throw your christianity in the viewers face because it doesn't tell me anything about your business or your product.

Great word, Steve: "confessional." It's amazing how many of these About pages are just that---personal biographies with confessional notes. You're right, of course, that an "about us" page should be the factual history of the company, its location, and perhaps some contact information if there isn't a Contact Us page.

The "About" page is where the company speaks personally to the customer, for the benefit of credibility. Online companies are already dealing with suspicion and caution, so the page is where they can overcome those objections.

Great advice.  All taken in and digested.  I've started a new web design with Microsoft Live (much, much, much better).  I also bought a great domain name.  I will work on the About Us page today.  And a professional photographer friend will be taking pictures next week.  Hope to have the new and much improved website up and going by the end of the week.

All of you are greatly appreciated and your wisdom is greatly accepted.

Thanks!
