This is nonsense. Truly skilled people doing important work need to be paid sufficiently to continue in business. We entrepreneurs want that. Why think that the vendors we use don't as well? Limiting pay to rates that barely work even in third world countries will nearly always result in amateurish work, and a business built on amateurish work won't survive. Quality is worth paying for.

This is great advice. I once paid a guy fifty cents to operate on my sick dog. The dog died, but I made a sweater out of him [the dog, not the guy] - and now am not cold in the winter when I wear the sweater.
