Come on you guys!

Why delve into something like this when there are so many really worthy businesses out there that are much more deserving of the air time?  I found this topic both useless and tasteless.  This choice takes Startup Nation down a notch on the class-act-omoter that you've always ranked so highly with me.  Please - don't go there again!  Your site should be something for everyone.

I completely disagree. My general sense of what's going on in the entrepreneurial world is that so many people are basically just copycats. They have little originality and are just trying to sell whatever someone else has come up with. That's not a bad thing, it's more a comment on the amount of real creativity in the world.

We constantly hear people say that all the good business ideas have been done to death, they're all taken, and there isn't much opportunity anymore to start something big. People look around for the "next big idea" and can't find it.

This particular discussion demonstrates that imagination and inspiration are alive and well. What's a "worthy" business? Is it another knock-off of some typical copy? Or is it a totally new idea---a "category setter"---that's not only never been done, but also controversial?

First of all can you please be more specific as to what you are talking about? I don't see what the whole idea of this topic is... This choice takes Start Up Nation down a notch?
Hmm, Interesting... This place is for everyone! just because you don't find something useful doesn't mean other's don't

I have never heard of such a thing. I think it was a great article showing that you never know what will be the next big seller, and not to throw away ANY idea. :D

I also visited the site and felt it was very tasteful and professional. Well done.

JenB,
I still don't follow your topic. You are speaking in snippets.. What is the purpose of your topic? to put Start Up Nation down? or to say that it is a good place to be?

Nuevolution,

JenB did not start this thread - jensenks did. Two different people speaking, with two different opinions.

The topic is about the "betty," and comes out of a linked podcast at the top of the post. Craig Landes
