Hi All,

I would like to get your feedback for the best "general" home based business opportunities. I understand the steps of finding a great home based business that works for you (what do you like, etc.), but I would like to hear from those of you who have (or know someone) home based businesses with what I call a "general" focus.
Here are a couple:
Medical Transcription
Data Entry
Virtual Assistant
Secret Shoppers
Survey Takers
There are so many scams, and I want to suggest legitimate options to folks wanting to start a lucrative home based business. Please also share any of your resources for finding the best home based businesses (magazines, websites, etc.).

Thanks and God Bless,

Tyra

Tyra, pick up a copy of "The Best Home Businesses of the 21st Century" by Paul Edwards.

The book's a bit dated, but still very useful as a reference guide.

I know that the surveys doesn't work all that well because I have tried those before, it may work for some people but, It didn't work for me because you have pay the little shipping fess on everything for the sponsors and that money adds up when its all done.

If you have this kind of business it work in what resources available in your hands even no financial capital. By system, I got my educational puppet making business and lending money to needy (micro business) and also our preschool.

Most of what you refer to as "scams" are very viable and profitable opportunities...but they are rarely explained well enough for the newbie to make any profit and hence get labeled as "scams".Check out the site below for information on starting an online business.

Tyra,

You shouldn't focus on what are the "best" home-based businesses since this can distract you from what you really want to do. Selling on auction sites like Ebay was once one of the hottest opportunities for people working from home. Now a lot of people are discovering high fees and competition from other vendors are getting in the way of their profit. Instead you should focus on what are your skills, desires and long term goals.

Hi Tyra,
I am agree with Jose, you should focus on your skills and your passion. You have the great opportunity of creating your own business. You will invest many hours, so it is better something you are really crazy about. Something you enjoy.
From there you can select and develop different ideas.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I am trying to do additional research for those who are interested in legitimate "general" home based business opportunities. I already have a couple of small businesses.
I agree that the best business(es) for you to start are those that you have prayed about and are in line with the reasons God particularly created you. With that in mind, I find it a critical part of my mission to be able to educate people on the opportunities that are available....those that appear to be secrets or scams simple because they have never heard of "personal" success stories from people they can trust.
Obviously none of us know everything that we will know this time next year. And so all of us are excited to hear about great opportunities. They may/may not be the best opportunities for us personally, but at least we can spread the knowledge if we know it is an ethical and solid operation.
So overall, I'm just looking for personal testimonies to your small based businesses. Why would someone with skills that are similar to those that you possess absolutely consider the business that you've started? Who knows maybe they match my skills as well...but maybe not! :)

Thanks again & God Bless,

Tyra
