One way to do grassroots marketing is to just get out there. If you sell running shoes and products, go to races. Just meet people. You don't have to "sell" persay; people will just associate a person with products and they can get to learn to trust you.

Please, Please - Do NOT put signs up on telephone poles - They are not public posting spots! - We don't need anymore spam signs posted around our neighborhoods.
Remove that suggestion - in many communities it it ILLEGAL to post those junk signs, and if it's not - it SHOULD BE!
I remove and destroy any that I see and I encourage you to do the same.
There are plenty of legitimate ways to promote your business.
