Tejas, I know you posted your question back in March, but I am brand new to SuN and just ran across your posting, and noticed you never got a response from some one who knows of the company. I have first hand knowledge. I am one of the affiliates in the program. I am now at the Executive Affiliate level. The reason for them being more popular in some states and never heard of in other states, is because we are trying to go nationwide. And in order to do that, the company has to get affiliates signed on in all the states. I am an affiliate in KY. First, this is not a Franchise. You would be a registered independent affiliate, you run your business the way you want to. No sales quota, no demands.
It is low cost to get in, and the money is there for the making. Its like any business though; you have to devote time to it, to make it successful. It is a very worthwhile program saving childrens lives. It is a guaranteed missing child prevention program, with an immediate emergency response with a 100% safe recovery rate. They have been in business for 17 years, the founder was featured on Oprah show several years ago, the program is endorsed by Oprah, John Walsh and others. Several CrimeStopper news broadcasts have featured our program in various states, it is not a MLM, not a pyramid scheme, not a get rich quick scheme, its totally legitimate. Last year it was also named #1 as the most innovative home based business. But in addition to it being a good home based business, the program itself that we sell, is very affordable, less than a cup of coffee a day and covers all your children until 18 (22 if in college) and every parent should register their children in our program. Two of the many benefits of the program: they will immediately post a $50,000 reward and assign a private investigator at no additional cost to the parent to locate their missing child.
I am a true believer in the program, it works, you'll have a great support system, you get a sponsor to help you one on one, weekly conference calls, all kinds of marketing templates, brochures, flyers, DVD's, etc. that you can copy and print yourself. You do not have to buy theirs, if you can print it cheaper, they allow that. Its just great. I could go on and on about it. If you don't believe me check out my web sites. To register your child in our program go to www.NoLostChild.com. To check out becoming an affiliate go to www.ChildSecurityServices.com this will route you immediately to my affiliate web page. If you sign up on my page, I could be your sponsor. If you sign up on the headquarters home page, please enter my Affiliate ID # 750. Thanks, Juanita
A parents worse nightmare: There is only one thing worse than having your child go missing; and that is to have your child go missing after you knew about this program, and you did not register your child.

Tejas,
Well, yes and no. I know what you are looking for. I was looking for the same thing before I decided to become an affiliate. I too talked to John several times; and I did talk to some of the affiliates. (I found most of them on my own but he did give me some referrals). And no, he will not give out specifics that you are searching for. And this is for many good reasons. Because he does not want to lead anyone on, or give anybody a false sense of financial security. Since I don't know what line of work you are in, lets say for example you are a house painter and part of a 3 man crew. You worked for the owner for 5 years, and your pay is $10 an hour. Another guy just recently hired in and he starts out at $10 an hour, and then the 3rd guy who has only been there for 3 years, you find out he is being paid $15 an hr. Now, how do you feel? I learned many years ago to never let my co-workers know what my salary is, nor did I want to know theirs. It creates many, many problems and hard feelings and then a lack of interest in your job. OK, yes, I know; painter vs affiliate?
Being an affiliate with this company is like starting up any other type of business for yourself. It is up to you to decide on your own success. What goals do you set for yourself? Do you strive to meet or exceed these daily goals? How much time, effort and money are you willing to invest to be successful? How do you judge what is successful? You being successful may be in a totally different ball park than what I think and what 10 other affiliates consider success.
If you became a lawyer, pass the bar exam, got your degree, and say hey I want to go in business for myself. So you build an office, plug in your computer and phone service, and then you sit there staring at your computer, waiting for your phone to ring. If that is all you do; are you going to be successful? NO, you have to promote it, advertise it, plug it at every opportunity you can. It is not a "build it - they will come" cliche.
We have many affiliates who make alot of money, and some who make none. Again, what do you consider "alot" of money? We have some affiliates who make $100 a day, and we have some who on an average make $1000 a day and there are some who make zero; like me. Yes, it is true, I will admit it, I have not made a dime YET, BUT that is my own doings. I emphasize "YET", because I just NOW started to promote my business even though I joined them several years ago, before I retired. I was looking for something to work at home after retirement, and when I found this program, I did not want to lose out on the opportunity, so I paid my membership, got all my materials, kept active with the company and was going to work on promoting it after I retired. (When I joined we didn't even have a web site, and we had to buy the individual packages and have an inventory of them to sell). They have made great progress in helping out the affiliates since I first joined. So now, I am ready, geared up and raring to go and make my own success. John himself was just an affiliate and he ended up buying the company from the founder. How's that for success???
How much money you make depends on how long you've been working it, how many customers you have signed up, how many affiliates you have signed up, and how many customers they have. Its building up a residual income. The longer you work it, the more customers signed on the more money you will make. Some affiliates only work this part time, some work it full time. Some have quit their other full time jobs because now they have built up their monthly residual income to live off of this business. Some affiliates are happy and consider theirself successful if they make $2000 a month, some may be happy with $800 a month. Some maybe won't be happy or consider theirself successful until they are making $5,000 - $10,000 a month. So what would make you happy, when do you consider you are successful? Some affiliates set their daily goal of selling 5 new memberships a day, others maybe set a goal of selling 20 memberships a month. Some affiliates don't even want to sell any memberships; they just want to get reps signed up under them and hope they make an income off of their residual sales. So, you might just want to do that. I know one man who is concentrating on bringing on more reps than he is in selling the program. Oh, also, I do have 5 affiliates signed up under me. And the truth is none of them have made a sale. As soon as they were assigned to me, I made contact via emails, I explained to them I am their coach, I know the material inside and out, I'm an experienced instructor (my old job) I have listened to every single conference call, I have the resources, I am here to help you, just call me anytime. One responded, who is a female immigrant who can hardly speak English, let alone type and spell English, I've been working with her, I've called the other 4, left messages for 2, they've never returned my call, One man doesn't even have an email account, no computer, no internet access and the phone number I called him at was his buddy's cell phone. And the other man cut me off because he had to go play softball and said he'd call me back. He never did, I followed up with an email, no response. They don't even communicate with me or John, and they never listen in on the conference calls. NOW, do you think they are going to be successful? I think not. It puzzles me why they even spent their money to sign up.
Another factor of some affiliates selling and not selling; alot is based on their personality. Some have never ever spoke in public, never gave a presentation, never sold anything, no customer service or PR experience, etc. Although our training program and our discussions during the weekly conference calls teach them on how to overcome this fear. They have to get over their fear of speaking in public and practice, practice, practice their presentations.
Oh, the program itself is hard for some people to sell, and others have no problem selling 10-20 memberships a day and probably more. Alot depends on your targeted market. Again, its up to the individual. Are you assertive? Are you shy? Do you always take NO for the first answer? Are you like a cowardly dog running away with your tail between your legs? The support system is there, John continually tells us if you make a presentation and then no sale, call him personally, he will walk you through what you did and he will tell you how to handle the situation the next time. He has an answer for every situation. All the conference calls are recorded and archived, you can search for specific ones on any topic from marketing, closing a sale, group presentations, individual ones, etc.
So you see, no one can tell you specifics, it is up to you. But I would guess since you live in California, you will be more, no, I won't say more successful than me. I will say you have a far better chance of selling more memberships than I do. California has 1/6 of the "registered" sex offenders in the U.S. 100,000+ in CA. to over 600,000 total in U.S. Where as I am in this little ol rural hick town in KY where there are 6,000 registered offenders in the state. When I first signed up I lived in the Cincinnati, OH area, where I had no doubts of being able to sell this program. After I retired, I moved down here in Southern KY. These people are poor, I mean poor. I didn't even want to try to sell to them, because I knew they couldn't afford it. I thought I had to stay in my own little vicinity, so, after talking to John, I am spreading out to the bigger cities in KY, Lexington, Louisville, etc. You being in CA look at your population alone. I can't even imagine how many children are there, how many schools, churches, boy and girl scouts, day care centers, toy stores, trophy and sports stores, etc. You have a large targeted market.
I hope this somewhat gives you a better idea, and helps you make the decision. Regardless, the minimal initial cost of just trying it out is only $299 and you get a free web site along with all the other training and sales materials. Where can you get a good web site set up and maintained for $299? Anyway, Like I said, I am ready to rock and roll now! If you do decide to join, you wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if you signed up under me on my web site. :)
