Question,

when  you guys hire new people do you guys do back round checks on them. I worked with a friend of mine and I got him hired on to the company, he had a long wrap sheet. The other company that we worked for didn`t have backround checks. Also how much does a service like this cost?

Prices can vary widely on background checks and it depends on what type of check you are doing.  Criminal checks can run from $10 to $20 per county.  Usually you do a residence check first to see where the applicant lived and then decide on how many counties to check. Some services have packages that will include SSN trace, Identification report and a criminal history search.  These run around $50.  Let me know if you need any further information, and I`ll help you out.

We use Argus Search (www.argus-search.com) for our background checks.  They are fairly affordable and it’s all done through a web interface.  I haven’t shopped around much but I do like working with these guys.
