My website is currently on Joomla! as a CMS and I`m in the process of looking for shopping cart that is compatible with Joomla and will fit my needs.  Its going to be a retail based website so I need all of the functions that most retail sites utilize.

There seem to be so many choices, but can use some recommendations and advice in searching for the best solution.

I am a PHP fan and use joomla for several of my sites. I recommend waiting for Magento which will be integrated into Joomla as a component.

My site is using Magento

otherwise if you want to cough up a few hundred + look at IXXO Cart.

Hope this helps, by the way Magento is Open Source and FREE!

Virtuemart is the main open source ecommerce component for Joomla right now.

I have looked at Magento, and it does have a very clean interface.  I really like the site, delight.com, which runs on Magento.

Just looking at shopping carts, Zen Cart has more features out of the box than Magento and has add ons for pretty much anything you want to do.  But then, it is a more mature script, I`m sure Magento will give it a run for it`s money as it has time to develop.

The one tie in I`m really looking forward to seeing develop is with Freeway.
