At 14, most kids are interested in hanging out and avoiding homework. Not Zach Vruwink.
As a freshman in high school he began helping his friends and family with their computer problems. Recognizing a need in his services in his ‘one-horse town’ of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Zach took the $500 in his saving’s account and opened his computer sales and retail business—Zach’s Computers—in his parent’s basement.
Today, Zach’s Computers has a retail location and to 6 employees—and he’s able to keep his finger on the pulse while attending the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. As the winner of a Junior Achievement award, Zach attributes much of his success to support from the local community.
There’s no doubt this inspiring entrepreneur is living up to his company motto: “Helping you understand your computer with plain talk and friendly local service.” Way to go Zach!
