I just wanted to add the real estate in Qingdao on the ocean is quite magnificent. I heard the olympic boating races will take place in the harbor there.  It is one of the few clean cities in China and I am sure it will eventually become one of the main second home spots for wealthy chinese along with dalian and sanya. Along with an inevitable yuan revaluation, it could be quite an opportunity for the right well-capitalized investor. However, if the banking system does not improve to where they can allocate capital efficiently it may put the entire economy much less the real estate market under significant pressure in the future.

Daniel,
I`m starting a small business and have located a manufacturer in China that I would like to do business with. I have a few questions:
How can verify the quality of the products
My orders will be small what is the most cost effective way to ship.
How can I find out the costs of duty taxes, customs, or any costs associated with importing.

I`m  really kinda lost here so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
