| Description: | A successful businessman and veteran driver, Rob Finlay started Finlay Motorsports to increase his involvement in the activity. Founded after Rob Finlay had already begun his career as a professional race car driver, Finlay Motorsports provides training resources and driver management, and fields a team. Rob Finlay achieved name recognition on the motorsport circuit, having trained in an advanced course at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving and scoring his first top 10 win in 2004 at Watkins Glen International in upstate New York. A series of top 10 finishes and podium victories followed, with Rob Finlay scoring 1st at Barber Motorsports Park in 2005. That same year, Rob Finlay branched into Daytona Prototype racing in Mexico City. Having founded Commercial Defeasance, LLC, in 2000 after nearly a decade on Wall Street, Rob Finlay sold a majority interest in the company in 2006 to Summit Partners. He remains on the company’s board of directors, and in 2009 he founded R.J. Finlay & Co., LLC, a New Hampshire-based real estate, construction, and construction materials supplier. Rob Finlay’s R.J. Finlay & Co. includes a dozen companies in six states. A native of New Hampshire, Rob Finlay also contributes to his community through philanthropic efforts. He donates to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through Finlay Motorsports and leverages the resources of R.J. Finlay & Co., LLC to bolster programs that encourage community service and environmental protection. In 2006, Rob Finlay and his wife created The Finlay Foundation to provide grant funding to organizations that support education and assist children and families in the state of New Hampshire. |
