SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! DO NOT CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL ME YOUR "INVENTOR SERVICES".
I have worked as a Makeup Effects artist and stunt man in the film business since 1989 and training in martial arts since 1977.
The creation of the Grab-it Pack came out of my frustration of finding a place for my cell phone, wallet, and keys during driving and physical activity that was comfortable to wear and didn`t get in my way.
The CLINCH WALLET design came out of my frustration of finding a wallet I actually liked that LOCKED my credit cards and important documents into place.
My products are currently available through my websites.
Great info on this thread.
I`ve been seeing those infomercials for the Government Grant seminars again. Their scam is that you pay them $1800 and they do all the paperwork for you and you never hear from them again.
The only problems I`ve had starting up my business was WITH the government. I don`t see them making it any easier or being friendly by GIVING me money.
Go FAQ page on the uspto.gov website.
If you are filing a provisional patent it`s the best and cheapest way to go (around $100). It`s VERY easy once you find the online form.
This gives you a year to save up and do research for your patent, then you should either hire someone or go through legalzoom.com
I`ve had lawyers quote me $1500 to $6000 for a patent so DO YOUR RESEARCH.grabitpack8/28/2008 12:38 PM
Go by the saying, "if it`s too good to be true...it probably isn`t" I`ve been in the film business for 20 years the story is the same everywhere. Business managers and agents watched my back in my younger days.
You can find a manufacturer yourself. A lawyer is not going to do that for you. There are many companies that would love to make your product (whatever it is), it`s how THEY make money.
If you NEED a patent, legalzoom is a great option.
Don`t go throwing money at lawyers at the drop of a dime. There are a lot of resources on this site. Take your time and be thorough.
I`ve been using PAYPAL and it`s not cutting it for ease of checkout and choices for my customers.
If you`ve had success with any other checkout and it`s been cost effective for you, please post info.
