I have had an LLC for the past 3 years for a Print brokerage business. I barely used it but always filed the taxes and kept it open in the event that I needed it. the last to years resulted in a loss. Now I am opening a bakery and was hoping that there was some benefit to just changing the LLC name so that I had the last 3 years of tax and filings associated with the EIN/TAX ID #. Plus I thought it would be cheaper to change the name rather than open a new LLC. Any thoughts on if there is any benifit to just changing the name and having the 3 year history?
I have had an LLC for 3 years now for Print Brokerage business that I was doing. I never did much with the business, but always kept it open in case I did. Now I plan on opening up a small bakery. I would typically just dissolve the Print business and open a completely new LLC, but I thought that perhaps the 3 years of Tax history associated with the tax ID # would help me in some way with the Bakery moving forward, so I wanted to just change the name. Wouldn't it be cheaper than opening an entire new LLC? At this point all I would have to change is the name and the bank info. Any thoughts on if there is a benefit to having the 3 year tax history?
