I'm a college student at SCSU. I'll be entering my Junior year this fall and plan on majoring in finance and accounting.
When I'm not doing homework or going to class I focus on creating or managing websites. My biggest project so far has been PicksThatMakeCents.com, a membership site for stock trading strategy and suggestions. I'm very passionate about creating quality websites that work on all browsers, including mobile and tablet devices.
I've been working on creating a small, private Facebook group for individuals who currently have or had online start-ups. The group is for these individuals to share their ideas for critiquing as well ask ask questions about their current ideas, business or revenue models, marketing strategies, etc etc. If you are someone who really enjoys building online businesses, this will be a great group to join as most of the people in it will have some experience in the online world. There are 2 main guidelines for the group... 1- This group is NOT for SEO/keyword or Affiliate marketing UNLESS you are actually creating the product. We are not discussing CPA or adsense strategies. This is for legit online businesses or services. 2- Do NOT plan on being spoon fed. Chances are if you know the business to get into you know how you are going to build money. You may not know the best way of starting though and you will surely be able to ask questions. 3- This is not for newbies. Online start-ups are real businesses, just done through the internet.
If you are interested add me on Skype so we can chat. I just want to know what you are currently working on or what you have in the past. The group is very tiny now (only a half dozen members), but I'm hoping to get around 30-40. It will be a great way to network with other like-minded people who you can bounce ideas/topics off.
I'm also really interested in finding a few people who can sort of be a community mentor. Someone who has extensive knowledge and currently has an online business that is their full income.
Ok sorry the title is pretty vague, but it is what I'm asking. I'm going to be making a free resource site for learning both financial and managerial accounting. Hopefully it will be full of stuff that is useful for both people in college and individuals who have a business but never taken formal accounting classes. I'm not a CPA, so I can't and won't give out advice. I just want to help people understand some of the basic principles and cost models.
If I were to do a site, what would you expect to see on it? What would you find useful? What are questions you currently need answered? I'm still thinking of how I were to go about splitting the content.
You are going to have to expand on 'Framework'. Are you meaning a grid framework that you can use to produce rapid prototypes or a framework for the overall site such as wordpress (in this case, you are talking about a platform).
Easiest way to make PASSIVE income is to create a product or membership site and get people to market it for you via networks like Clickbank or CJ. Not sure what part of finance you are in, but you can make some sort of ebook. I have a client who has a membership site and offers stock options. His salary is in the top 1%, but it isn't quite passive since he has to do some work.
