I am a police detective and small business consultant specializing in fraud prevention. I am also the editor of FraudAnswers.com, a website dedicated to providing individuals and small business owners with the tools and information they need to detect and prevent fraud.
I`ve spoken to a lot of small business owners about the importance of screening new hires. However, many people tell me that doing background checks on employees is a good idea but very few actually do them. Does anyone out there have a comment? If you screen your employees, tell me how you do it. If not, tell me why. Thanks for the feedback!
I haven`t used Skype yet but the price seems great. Depending on what type of phone system you need, you may want to take a look at Got Vmail. $9.99 per month will get you a toll-free number, automated voicemail with call forwarding, music on hold, and up to nine mailboxes. This service is really easy to use and makes your company look like a large firm. Additional features include fax-thru-email and fax-on-demand. I have used Got Vmail for the past two years and couldn`t be happier. I refer all of my clients to their site: www.gotvmail.com.
I`d like to hear more about Skype. Send me an email and let me know what you think of their service. Good Luck!
As a private investigator I get a lot of requests for business due diligence. More and more people are doing business with Chinese companies and it is very difficult to check them out. Unless you have a large budget for an investigation I suggest you try Google-ing the company name with complaints or reviews (chinacompany+complaints). It wouldn`t hurt to ask the company for references. There are MANY companies over there offering similar products, take some time to look around and find one you are comfortable with. Then again, no risk, no reward, right? If you are interested in a thorough search send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Good Luck!Brett Carlson
I usually use templates to build my sites because they are less expensive than custom sites and easy to use. Many of these templates, however, are too simple and plain. Does anyone have a web designer who utilizes high-quality templates? I am always looking for an inexpensive alternative for my clients.
Thanks for the help!
