Do you understand the concept of Wellness?

Wellness....this is how I think about wellness.

    1. a great exercise routine 5 days a week + of cardio

    2. a journal of what, when and why I am eating during each day

    3. stay far away from the medications of any sort....meditate, relax and drink lots of water.

    4. Mindset helps as well! think positive as much as you possibly can during the day

    5. take in only organic environmently safe things such as soy/vey gourmet candles vs sooty candles

    Well....did I miss anything?

I`m very impressed with your response. Most people don`t even understand the wellness concept. It is always thought to be only exercise. To me wellness is all that and most importantly a balanced life. What I`m learning from my involvement with developing wellness software and the development of mywellnessspace.com/wellness. The definition is really left to you. To me it is almost like a path to follow. Stay on it, live a longer healthier happy life. Leave the path and well you know the rest. Thanks your input. Be Well

Wellness is the opposition to, and proactive action against illness. It`s come into play with the collapsing healthcare system, which has always been reactive.

People are understanding that whatever we can do in the "preventative medicine" field, which is what "wellness" used to be called, is going to lower current healthcare costs.

Among the areas being examined are so-called holistic and alternative medicines, psychology, sociology, and even the "X" factor (metaphysics, parapsychology, and New Age ideologies).

Not so long ago, vitamins were considered ridiculous. Some pharmacies carried them as money-makers, but no doctor really "felt" that vitamins were necessary. After all, the Gubb`mnt had fully proclaimed the FDA "daily minimum requirement" for nourishment. Why have more than that?

Yet today, most physicians understand that vitamins and supplements often make for major changes in how often someone becomes ill.

Fortunately, with the Internet, we`re starting to have access to massive studies, statistics, and empiric evidence coming from overseas countries using socialized medicine (like Germany). Their healthcare systems have collapsed, so they`re somewhat forced to look at wellness programs. The result is large-scale de facto studies of all kinds of alternative medicine.

An example coming from this is the St. John`s Wort substitution for antidepression. It offers no benefit, based on those very large-scale real-world tests. On the other hand, the routine use of folic acid in pregnancies came out of studies that also were quickly accessible through the Web.

Wellness is a far better way to examine life and health, than illness and disease. Now if we can get people to understand that insurance is YOU betting you`re going to have a horrible life, and the insurance company betting you`re going to have a wonderful life, we`ll be on the way to another big improvement. :-)

Description
Headline:Owner of MyWellnessSpace.com
Description:MyWellnessspace.com was brought to life while I was developing wellness software for a company called active@anyage. There is a great need for a niche myspace. The site looks and funtions somewhat like myspace, but has a couple of cool features myspace doesn`t currently have.

After I installed my wellness software into Manatee countie`s wellness center, it became very appearent the this service was needed. Manatee county has 3,000 employess and uses an intranet to keep in touch with their employees and to let them know what upcoming programs the center is going to offer.
I over heard an employee say something to the effect of "it would be great if we had a meeting place online, to start walking clubs or share diet secrets." I got a great programmer and he found a great os php program that had all of the features of myspace and get this it only cost $375 to purchase a license and $75 a year to keep there logo off of the site. I plan a promoted launch by the April 2007.
