While in college I worked four part time jobs to put myself through the first year. I was unsure of what I really wanted to do and had very little guidance. I changed majors several times and even schools. Eventually, a degree in History and International Politics was for me! To get the rest of the way through school, I worked a position in apartment management which led me to leasing management and project management. By the age of 26 I was at the top of my game in the commercial construction industry as a project manager that hired architects/general contractors and maintenance vendors for a major bank. This was a tough thing for a woman in construction to be in (in the southern states anyway) and I burned out by the time I was 32. I quit and rested for three months. I wanted to own my own business in a more feminine industry. In 2004 after a couple of years of research, I accomplished it! I am the owner of Defilage Skincare and Cosmetics. www.defilage.com. It has been a wonderful (but hard) experience and I encourage anyone with an idea to at least TRY IT!!!
