My background is in problem-solving of operational and management processes, building and implementing IT solutions to support changes across an enterprise. My wife and I took a two year career break and served in the US Peace Corps in Lesotho (southern Africa) where I taught entrepreneurial and management skills to community groups. After returning, I made a transition from management consulting (formerly with Booz Allen Hamilton) to real estate as an entrepreneur. After my first year as a REALTOR(r), I discovered the need for a complete listing and transaction management tool geared towards the industry as a whole - solving fundamental problems in communication, accountability, and workflow.

Our Philosophy

Update Lane facilitates the possibility of growing and improving communities through a more integrated and transparent housing market. We envision a community working together ethically, responsibly, caring, and happy. We believe we have five stakeholders: (1) real estate agents, (2) sellers and buyers, (3) brokerages, (4) those that service the housing market (“vendors”), and (5) our local communities. We understand that they all need to work together to create a fluid housing market. If these relationships are healthy, our community is healthy and grows. A healthy community fosters new and existing social projects, new jobs, new families, better education, and a better place to live.

Agents bridge the communication gap with their clients at their convenience, manage more listings in less time (task planning/workflow), share all documents online, and educate their clients on the market so that they can make informed decisions. They can even work using their smart phone. Accounts will always be free so sharing information will always be easy. Agents are automatically a part of our referral program (leads).

Clients stay educated on their local market, follow their agents marketing activities, and make informed decisions to help them get their property sold. Access to files online eliminates cumbersome faxing and makes important files available to them at their convenience from anywhere they can access the internet.

Brokerages provide a tool of success for their agent, track all of their transactions, and create paperless pending and close files. Update Lane becomes a valuable recruiting tool to get and retain agents.

Vendors have a means of building stronger agent relationships and advertise directly to those that are most likely to use their service.
