Sales reps % best practice

    Commission is the best way to motivate a good sales person.  If you try and take away commission on a big order you'll appear greedy.

    I would make a commission tier off profit.  That way if your getting a 200,000 order which might have slightly less margin he would understand getting lesser percent.  But no reason a smaller order should have less percent if it has good margin.

    Would like to know what is the best practice regarding % commission to sales reps.

    I regularly give 5% for small orders, 10% till a certain amount (like from 300 to 5000$),

    but what if a sales reps gets a 20000$ order from one of his clients, back to 5% or 8%?
