Can anyone recommend me an alternative to ordinary time sheets?

Yes, I use this one and it is great - very easy with professional reports:

Another great feature - is very inexpensive with free lifetime upgrades.  Plus, if needed they can personalize to fit your needs.

    I hope this helps,

Just curious if you looked into this Time Tracking tool?  If you have did you like it?  If not, is there a reason why?  If so, did you order it.  I love the reporting features and my clients do as well.  It is very easy for them to see the work I have done and time spent on each individual project.  I also like the fact that the reports can be broken down by client, client and project, project, date, etc.  Lots of versatility.

    Hope you found it helpful,

Hi. I'm Dino from Hubstaff. You may want to try Hubstaff. It has time tracking with screenshots, invoicing, and can be integrated with projects. It also has a time-tracking widget that is surprisingly lightweight and unobtrusive. You can get a free account in their website.
