I also want to share something that according to me  a good web designer plays an important role in the success of ay business. Cost of hiring a web designer depends on which type of work you required. A fully functioning E-commerce site with maintenance web page design costs can run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars for a large company with many different product offerings. And this type of website you don't make untill you are proffessional in this field. Any way Thanks for sharing..

There is no such standard that describes the amount to be paid to a web designer. However you can choose a decent professional within your budget from the online services.

It really depends on your needs, but I think you can start from not less than 100$. The cost is not the only thing that you should consider when hiring a web designer/developer.

Check out this article to get tips on what to do and what to ask when you want to hire a web designer.

It varies based on how many pages you need your website and what you want the functionality to be.

mosaicHUB is actually offering a deal right now in their marketplace: $399 (marked down from $799) for a 3-5 page website. I recommend checking it out! http://www.mosaichub.com/marketplace/view/strategic-website-design-development

    Hope this helps,

I think having a draft in mind is an excellent idea as this will save a lot of time and money. From my experience it is hard for a web designer to understand your business and it gets frustrating

I also think there are some pretty good templates on the market - we have used a couple such as this one www.securityconsole.co.uk

yes I also agree with above comments that Cost of hiring a web designer vary from designer to designer. Cost of web designers is also depends upon the requirements of the users. If you hire a web design company then cost may also differ,I suggest you one thing before hiring any web design firm or individual must check their past work.

Designers are a lot like song writers. Every finished work is different...but the "style" is consistent with every project.

So, get a feel for the "style" of a designers work and then when you find a designer you like, give them your requirements and turn them loose to create what he or she feels will get your message across. For this reason, I would suggest not making a design draft to give to a designer.

If you feel that's too much risk to lean on a single designer, you might give 99designs a try where you submit your concept as a contest and a bunch of designers will supply design comps. You choose the one you like the best, pay 'em off, and you're off and running with your new design in hand.

Building your website is a tricky thing. You always what to be perfect and spend lots of money and time on it. However, when you're at the begining of your business, try not to spend all your financial resources on buidling your website. Here is how much I think a website should cost: http://www.unfoldatelier.com/journal/how-much-should-your-first-website-really-cost

Good service must cost. I think hiring a company is better, because they seem to be more trustworthy.
