I love the work of Killer Covers. Although they made a name for themselves by designing ebook covers, they have an excellent design staff and reasonable pricing.

Below is the URL for their logo service.

I would recommend you contact someone that is not just a graphic designer, but also a marketer.

You can also place your project at: www.HireMyMom.com at no charge and get a great logo designed for a fraction of what brick and mortar design shops charge.

    Hi,

designing a logo for your company is VERY important, you don`t want to leave it up to fate, you want to be actively involved in the process and making it come to life. i can help you.

i am a graphic designer, with 5+ years of professional logo design. i currently work for an ad agency, where much of my work is in concept logo design and i spend much of my free time freelancing as well.

i understand everyone is on a budget and wants to get as much as they can for as little as they can spend, so i can be flexible on costs. we can work something out together.

check out my portfolio, and we can make a time to talk about ideas.   http://www.coroflot.com/gingerbryan

    thanks!

I would recommend you contact someone that is not just a graphic designer, but also a marketer and even a salesman.  They should take some time talking to you and perhaps some potential customers to make sure the design oozes your philosophy and mission - you might even uncover your basic strategy during the process.

That`s true, though I can see what he means. Having someone draw you a logo is one thing - there are lots of talented artists out there. Having someone who can talk to you about what sort of logo would work for you, and then draw it, would be beneficial. I need to think about that myself when I get to the logo stage.

I would recommend you contact someone that is not just a graphic designer, but also a marketer.

Today I used the company I recommended to buy my company logo. If I get a finished product before you make a decision, I`d be happy to show you the results, and post my impressions of the design process.

I have my logo finished - I actually forgot about this thread. I`m going to follow through on my promise and post my results. The design process was wonderful. First I sent in a form with some general information and suggestions on my part. The next day I got a phone call and fleshed out some more ideas and gave him an idea of what I needed that the form didn`t really get into. In two days, I got a handful of different designs. I deliberated on these designs for a week at least. Each one had a strong suit. I could pick a logo, take parts of each that I liked, or whatever. I sent in my response. In this case I just picked a logo as it stood. Then I got a handful of variations on that design as it would be used in stationary. I picked my favorite. In my case it was understood that I have no location or phone number yet, so the specifics of the stationary are on hold indefinitely, which was no problem. After that I got a handful of variations on the logo. I`m happy with it. I`m going to use a local company for my sign cups and shirts - physical representations of my logo.

EDIT: I uploaded a color and a black and white version of my logo to my old website photo album. I`ll post the link here, then you can view at your leisure.

Firstly, be realistic about the logo you want for the price your willing to pay. Yeah you can get one for $19 but your gonna get what you paid for and you'll need a new one almost straight away.

You just cant beat a quality logo with genuine thought and design put into it. You get the odd one in those 'slave' sites were the designers have to compete against each other, but only if your lucky.

    I used www.educated-design.com

one-on-one, immediatly started working, unlimited design submissions for 50% upfront...plus the designs were amazing.

I`m looking to have a logo designed for my company, but I`m not sure where to start.  Has anyone used a good service they would recommend?
