Headline:I custom engrave crystal
Description: For 34 years, self taught artisan Catherine Miller has pursued the dying art of intaglio crystal engraving, and specializes in original one of a kind heirloom items.
Catherine`s inspiration originated with an article in National Geographic covering the dying art of copper wheel engraving. She uses the old world method of hand engraving original art into crystal with a variety of stone wheels of different diameters and profiles on a lathe. All work is executed free hand without the use of stencils or patterns, with some items taking close to 200 hours to engrave.

Catherine creates custom Fine Art, Presentation Pieces, Corporate Awards, Wedding, Anniversary gifts, etc. Her artwork has been presented to 2 U.S. Presidents, World Leaders, Dignitaries, Entertainers, Politicians, Professional Athletes, and Collectors of Fine Art and may be found in 49 countries to date.

Creations from Catherine`s hands are presently part of the Permanent Collection of the United States White House, the State of West Virginia, and the Richard Nixon Library. She has had the honor of creating a one of a kind Ornament for the Official White House Christmas Tree. One creation a Harpy Eagle was commissioned for Jim Fowler of Mutual of Omaha`s "Wild Kingdom" and is presently displayed in the Explorer`s Club in New York City.

Some distinguished awards that have been presented to Catherine are : Start Up Nation`s" Home-Based 100" ranking #2 in the United States for "Most Innovative”, "Home Based Business Advocate of the Year“, U.S. Small Business Administration, "West Virginia Woman of the Year for Arts", "Entrepreneur of the Year", "Dream Maker of the Arts",and others.

At the age of 52, Catherine does not rest on her laurels and feels that the BEST is yet to come. She demands the very best from herself in creating and desires that those who collect her art will cherish it for years to come and proudly pass them on to future generations.
