The Maine episode starts in the dead of winter with interviews of locals of Maine,Cold Case Seasons 1-7 DVD Collection, giving the crowd a feel because the location. Uncle Bob serves Tony and Zach a meal of savage partridge cooked in bacon portly, bacon, eggs and coffee. Uncle Bob adds a big shot of Seagrams to his morning coffee before digging in. Afterwards Zach and Zach’s second cousin Kirby take Tony to chop wood. Cousin Kirby pulls out a fetter saw and gives Tony instructions. For never using a fetter saw Tony does well, tearing down a tree. Zach has Tony chop logs of firewood in half with a hatchet and Tony proves himself once extra. As they carry wood back Zach tells Tony they ambition gather water next. First they share a meal with Zach’s dad, Cousin Kirby, friends and kin, consisting of hare stew with rises and red brandy, bear (Tony’s never had this before), scrapple (Tony’s never had this before either) and homemade biscuits. Tony proclaims the meats “delicious and tender”.

Zach leads Tony on a walk to a normal spring where they gather bottles of water from the small circular hole in the snow. Tony tells Zach that “the best food is here” when describing Maine. Tony and Zach hike through the snow back to the hut with water bottles in hand.
