|Description:||Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Arash Rahi, MD, MSc has held responsibilities as a urogynecologist with Westchester Medical Center since 2008. He is currently the director for Center of Excellence for Female Pelvic Medicine & Minimally Invasive Reconstructive Surgery in Hawthorne, NY. Dr. Arash Rahi’s areas of professional knowledge include female pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and female pelvic reconstruction as well as fecal and urinary incontinence. He maintains a particular focus on minimally invasive gynecological procedures and regularly undertakes laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgeries. |
Dr. Arash Rahi completed his undergraduate work at New York University, pursuing studies in biochemistry, math, and French. He notably achieved the school’s Freshman Chemistry Award and helped lead his Math Club team to the high-profile William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. He additionally participated in the university’s French and Persian clubs, and studied international relations in Paris through a study abroad program.
Pursuing his Doctor of Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine from 1999 to 2003, he subsequently completed a four-year internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Rahi’s responsibilities encompassed patient care and the supervision of junior residents. From 2007 to 2010, Dr. Rahi undertook a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at New York University.
During the course of his career, Dr. Rahi has received the Ambulatory Gynecology Award, the 2010 Compassionate Doctor Award in Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery, as well as several teaching awards.
Outside his professional life, Dr. Arash Rahi serves in volunteer capacities with the Vigilant Great Neck Fire Department in the state of New York. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as sailing, hiking, camping, and scuba diving in his free time.
