I started my writing career in the usual way.  I took various writing, technical writing and journalism courses.  I then landed my first paid publishing job with a local newspaper.  I wrote articles about news worthy events in remote areas of our county.  I had editorials published in several other newspapers as well.  At the same time, I had articles published in national magazines.

I've since expanded further into the field of writing.  I started by taking over a weekly column at another newspaper.  I also wrote resume' drafts, letters of introduction, job descriptions and curriculum for part of a local college's adult education program. 

I've even written rough and final drafts of emergency response programs for two organizations.
