Tiger Tacos are for people who use cardboard boxes.

We want to have a promotion to support our "holiday shipping season" public relations push and we want the SuN take on what`s better as it`s a fun "grind" on our business, marketing, and saving the world -- it is about selling tacos; both costs less than free shipping, our average on-line order is for 2 sets, and getting more tacos into an area gets us more sales in the same area.

why limit yourself to one or the other. Why not do both promotions as a test this year. Let the consumer decide if they want 2 free or give them away.

We personally push 2 for you and 2 for a friend type deal, that way they market FOR you and actively promote your business.

Thank you Todd; I wanted to toss this out on SuN because not all opinions are the same to me and I`m really looking forward to votes and comments from members who kind of have a feel for who/what we (Tiger Taco) are from various things we`ve done and shared.

While it`s always about selling tacos, for us it`s a lot more about wanting to do the right thing as we have fun ... we specifically set out to invent and sell a new product just so we could make all the decisions while seeing what happens when you do this or that (e.g., I posted here how I thought buying product from China equated to eating sewer rat; something I`d never do working on a "real" brand).

I was reading about BeGo; we`ve been planning on doing like you say where we get our customers marketing for us by selling more, but the issue is first getting the sale and seeing if getting more is even going to turn a non-buyer into a buyer; and then it was thinking about who got the value from their largeness ... would having a social "hook" trigger a purchase (overcome hesitation?) more or less than one of their actually receiving the product themselves.

(I also think the "food back" solidifies the image of a very real and practical area where people can see our box tacos are needed; the shopper may think it`s a cool thing for when they next move, but there`s not an immediate buying desire or need to support our company.)

Hi this is George here, i`m thanking everyone in advance for their participation.  Chris and I usually have different views and this is one topic of the day.  I want to offer a customer to buy 2 units and we double up and give them 4!  WOW! that`s 100% more for free!  or we can give the 2 extra units to a charity like our local food bank.  I`m just thinking of the customer on what we can do for them, as we have a new product and we`re trying to get it into the hands of as many consumers as possible.  So, in signing off here, thank you for your feedback, Adios!

When I see "Buy 2, get 2 free," I get irritated. I`d rather just get the lower price on whatever quantity I want to buy. I don`t mind the "Buy 1, get 1 free," but with more than one it`s annoying.

Maybe it`s just me, but I see a line between offering a sale price versus pretending that the words on the sale sign are going to make me do something. In other words, "Christmas in July" is just plain stupid.

Then again, I don`t like telemarketing either. And yet, there must be millions of people who do, or it wouldn`t continue to be a problem. :-)

Description:TigerTaco.com
I started hanging around Startup Nation a few years ago after I heard the brothers speak at a small entrepreneur group here in Arizona . . . I liked their passion and thought it would be fun to participate with the people they touched.

Way back then we only had one version of our taco and were basically selling them one-off; you do a lot of work on the front side of things and sometimes the journey takes a lot longer than you imagine . . . it certainly has been a most interesting time both on SuN and in our own little taco world.

(well that's enough "Description" for now)
