Rock the vote...BABY!!!!

(sorry about double posting...it was my first poll attempt...got confused )

So I am curious...I personally prefer to have music in the background during the day...and it usually depends on my mood as to what I am listening to...but in general I prefer a good classic or alternative (not grunge) rock. Lately I have found myself totally in love with 2 particular songs, both are by a band (possibly just artist) named Gnarls Barkley...and they are Crazy and Gone Daddy Gone. Being that I tend to be a little younger than a lot of people on these types of forums...I am curious as to what kind of music inspires you to work hard...focus better...or relax into the routines of your day. OR...are you the type who just can`t stand to have all that noise in the background...you want your peace and quiet...the bliss of being able to hear nature outside your window...or the gentle hummmm of your CPU!?

When I am really in a crunch...I tend to stray towards classical (instrumental) or opera (the classics: Phantom being my favorite)....or my all time favorite band Dave Matthews...who could inspire me to do just about anything with his guitar and silk like essence as his voice glides through the songs!!!

So what are YOU listening to!?

Folk Rock.

Continuous mellow folk rock.

We could have anything from the Doors, to Dave Matthews, to Tom Petty, to Prince to System of a Down playing in here. Sometimes I play smooth jazz near the end of the day. It just depends on the mood we want to create. Good thing the programmer and I like mostly the same music - we tend to control the radio

Man...I totally did this late last night and forgot about Jazz and Folk!!! Sorry!! If I can figure out how to fix it...I will add it in!

Classical would definitely be my first choice.

Once a while I listen to soft rock.  96.5 KOIT (in SF Bay area)

For some reason when I listen to sounds of nature I tend to get real sleepy.

Okay....sooooo unfortunately I can`t add the "Other" category...and I can`t add Jazz and folk...but that is not to say you haven`t been counted...your voices are heard!!!  We will just have to make due with what we got! Sorry folks!

I mainly listen to rock/pop. Mostly the radio which I have tuned
to Virgin Radio on my ITunes . That way I can keep up with
what`s happening back home plus they tend to play music that
hasn`t quite made it to the US yet.

Honestly, half the time it could be audio of someone reading cereal box labels & I wouldn`t care...

because being able to listen to whatever I want whenever I want is one of those "priceless" things I now get to enjoy because I started my own business.

If you have not already, you need to look into Pandora.  Set your own station based on either individual songs or artists you like.  The technology behind it is part of the music genome project, and it is great!  You will find all sorts of new groups and songs that are similar, and you have total control.  Best of all, it`s free!  Fair warning though, you will be addicted if you are a music lover.  Here you go:

That is by far one of the coolest sites I have ever seen!!!! I had NO IDEA how much I was missing in music!!! Thank you sooooo much for the link!!! I am a happy little music girl now...ugh..but you are right...sooooooo addictive!!!

I used to listen to a lot of streaming music from epitonic.com, but their site was redesigned and is now a messy maze.

I usually surf to Shoutcast.com and pick what I`m in the mood for and then stream it.
