I was just curious to know how most of the entrepreneurs here got their business education.

I got my business education through reading, reading and re reading books… yup I’m a business autodidact (1-2 hours a night every night) a fact I’m very proud of myself for.

While I’m on the subject of books does anyone have an opinion on the Donald Trump books (any of his books)

I didn`t see an option for learning at home, so I chose reading and stuff. But I learned a great deal about business from my father, then from running a band. Finally, as I got older I started reading books in order to get more of the details.

    Interesting question-

I dropped out of high school and started my first business at the age of 20. It was only later on, after I had some success under my belt that I decided to go back to school. I did, and got my Bachelor`s, an MBA and am now working on my dissertation for my doctorate.

Having a bunch of degrees didn`t make me a better entrepreneur than I was before though.

There have been many arguments in favor of taking a year off between high school and continuing education. The reason being that we need to experience real life in order to understand how to connect it with abstract education.

It`s one thing to learn algebra in grade school, but another thing to understand which is cheaper---the single roll of paper towels or the large, economy size.

Same with business education. When we`re just learning numbers in theory, that`s one level of interest. But if we have an existing business facing real problems, the solutions (and questions) we learn in classes have a direct, personal application.

Are my prices a bit high for this economy?  This is what I charge for Direct Mail

6,000 direct mail ads for $750.00

11,000.00 direct mail ads for $1,375.00

So basically I charge 00.08 per ad but I only distribute by 6k and 11k, i don`t charge clients extra for color, size, postage or mailing list.  Last time I checked that is less expensive than other forms of direct mail. Still you as business owners, would you pay those prices in this economy?

I would pay those prices, but maybe im being biased
