Since founding Rodney Stewart, BVSc PLLC, dba Equine Sports Medicine in 2006, he has managed his developing practice while collaborating with a variety of veterinarians and researchers and pursuing new approaches to veterinary treatments.

Although his practice is based in Saratoga Springs, New York, Stewart's work spans the globe: he works with clients and colleagues from South America, the Middle East, and Europe, and is currently developing client relationships in China. One of the first veterinarians to use bone marrow-derived stem cells to speed the recovery of tendon and ligament injuries in horses, Stewart is currently working actively with medical technology and biotechnology firms to research ways that human medical technology can be applied to the equine veterinary field.

Prior to founding his practice, Rodney Stewart spent five years at the Belmont Veterinary Group, a racetrack practice based in Elmont, New York. He has also practiced at Battenkill Veterinary Equine in Middle Falls, New York, and Parbery and Robson Equine Hospital in New South Wales, Australia. He currently holds veterinary licenses in New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, and California, and has United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Accreditation in New York and Kentucky.

Rodney Stewart received his Bachelor of Veterinary Science with honors from the University of Sydney in 1997. After graduating, he served as an Intern in Surgery, Medicine and Theriogenology at the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, a leading referral clinic in Shepparton, Australia, and as an Equine Surgical Fellow at Washington State University.
