| Description: | I am employed by a Manhattan-based life insurance brokerage firm where most of my time is spent supporting financial services professionals in the use of life insurance products as part of particular planning strategies. Originally I joined the firm as a pure technologist – the immediate need had been to upsize the agency management database application I’d originally developed as a consultant to a true client-server system. In addition, the owner of the firm gave me the mandate to “reinvent the business” (process reengineering) in order to take it to the next level. My strengths include learning, synthesizing (ideas/concepts), and explaining. I have specific skills with financial / wealth management strategies – especially those involving the use of life insurance; application programming using VB; database program using Access or SQL Server; customization / tools creation using MS Office applications; and public speaking. My nickname and photo were chosen to honor my experience serving aboard the USS New York City (SSN 696), as US Navy fast attack submarine. The six years I spent in the Navy, four of them on the NYC as a radioman, taught me much about the world, about people, and – as I realized much later - myself. |
