I`m a freelance writer specializing in the food and beverage industry. For 12 years I was an editor at McGraw-Hill, Thomson, and other publishers, working my way up through production and development to manuscript acquisitions. Along the way, I dipped a finger into every pie, brainstorming campaign ideas with the marketing managers, hosting product showcases with the sales reps, and selecting color palettes and cover images with the design staff. Whether it`s features and benefits or points and picas, I speak your language.
For several years I indulged my food fancy by moonlighting as a restaurant reviewer for a New Times newspaper. Now I write for food and beverage industry trade magazines, websites, restaurant consultants and public relations firms, and franchise corporations. I have an M.A. in American literature and taught English composition at Saint Louis University.
