Your approach is actually a lot more common than you`d think.

For some reason, our company always seems to attract a lot of contractors whose spouses are in some kind of IT-related field.

Talk about the ultimate service level agreement... "fix my PC or you`re sleeping on the sofa tonight" .

None of the above either. We finally decided to add on our own folks after almost 3 years of not so great contractors.

It`s interesting how the "I do it all myself." played out as the top choice with a small sample.

This validates that startups often wait a while (often too long) before reaching out to build a team of trusted business advisors, such as a

• trusted accounting/financial advisor
• trusted legal advisor
• trusted technology advisor

I`m all for the "UPS approach" where every CEO needs to first load the docks and drive the truck. However, just don`t underestimate the value of your own time in trying to learn/do EVERYTHING yourself.
