Starting his career with the company, Herwitz accumulated 25 years of knowledge and experience, the last eight serving as President. With CoMetrics, Gary Herwitz is involved with the development of unique financial reporting systems and supply chain solutions to streamline product availability and delivery. Spending about a quarter of his time working in China, he seeks to design innovative ways to manage and condense the complexity of international import and export activities to enhance profitability. Gary Herwitz and his team at CoMetrics have performed diligence, integration, and negotiation functions for a number of companies, including Boy Meets Girl and Spheris, Inc. He advised the Moret Group, a business that handles clothing brands such as Danskin and the Hello Kitty brand of products. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware appointed CoMetrics Partners LLC as the financial advisor for the restructuring of Spheris, Inc.’s debts. In addition to these cases, Gary Herwitz was also instrumental in constructing the business plan and securing financing for the sweets startup, Campus Candy. The venture, which began at Indiana University, has expanded to other large college campuses and offers frozen yogurt and over 600 different candies to college students and campus patrons alike. Aside from assisting Campus Candy in the composition of its overall business strategy, Herwitz and CoMetrics designed the company’s reporting and other computing applications. Gary Herwitz holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Transportation Distribution Management from Syracuse University, where he was a member of the Accounting Honor Society, Beta Alpha Psi. In his spare time, he contributes to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in New York. |
