Fun post and poll. The term threw me a little at first `cause I`m used to hearing or seeing "Triskaidekaphobia", which is the fear of the number 13.

I voted that I carry on as normal - just as on any other day I`m constantly looking over my shoulder and waiting for the next shoe to drop.

 

Thank you, I feel much better having at least acknowledged my problem. What worries me, though, is that as I`ve come to embrace the FJA, I find that they always meet on Friday the 13th. I looked into a sponser, but unfortunately, his name was Jason. (The poor soul hasn`t accomplished a thing in his life, what with the widespread problem of prejudice and stereotyping.)

On any day, when I see the hands of a person whose name is Dippy Chick I get really freaked out.

Seriously though... Friday the 13th has nothing on my birthday. My birthday is always a really strange day. If I`m not sick, then someone dies or some freak thing happens. Last year a tree branch fell through our garage roof and made a basketball-sized hole. The year before that my dad died on my birthday. Every birthday something really odd happens. I`m starting to fear them, and not because I`m getting older.

A similar thing happened to us when my parents were trying to sell their house. The first time they put it on the market, my aunt died. The second time they put it on the market, my grandmother died. The third time, my grandfather became quite sick, but he didn`t pass on until quite later. They finally sold the house. I`m not sure they`ll ever sell another house again, though!

This is the first collective action taken by the group. The point leader is a preliminary and temporary position.

The duties of Point Leader are:

• Organizing a standardized method that contributors will use to pitch a brief, summarized business concept that they would like to submit for vote.
• Collect and compile concept summaries and post them on a thread for the group to review and comment AND set a resonable date for a vote.
• Facilitate the vote for the business concept.
• When the leading business concept is voted through, the Point Leader will facilitate a final vote for the key management positions suited for the leading business concept.
• When each of the managment postions are assumed, the Point Leader`s duties will be fullfilled. As such is the case, the Point Leader will still be eligible for nomination and election to a management position.

Voting starts: 10pm Sunday October 29

Ends : 10pm Friday, November 3

When the vote is final, The elected Point Leader will address the group here, a thread will be established and the collection of business ideas will begin.

My choice was you Eric and YOU got something that put my choice in advance having a invention prove that you got leadership.

In my opinion, although it may look the same, this is very different than voting for a contest. I really don`t feel it`s appropriate for posts to be made here in support of any of the nominees. I`m sure this will be addressed in the future along with other project ground rules.

Actually Steve... I am with you. I did vote, but wished I knew more about each candidate`s thoughts on this project. I might also want to know how I can post my reasons for wanting to be nominated... Instead, I just went with the flow, to allow this to progress rather than being held back by the bickering that might ensue. ...Steve… I’m not saying, or trying to imply, your comment might create a bickering moment by what you said.

This is like best friends getting married. Part of the StartupNation community are about to become business partners. The consequences of this are huge.

We need to be able to express our opinions, make a case for what we believe is best, then when it comes time to vote, vote and live with the outcome. If anyone can`t do that, it`s probably best that they not get involved.

Election Speculation in the Nation!

JEN: Well, Jan, it looks like a fair race. Everybody that`s here is everybody that`s where.

JEN: It`s the scariest time of the year! Monsters and Elections. Looks like we have a kat, a cutie, and a civilized creature, feature. All`s fair in Love and War and Business as we countdown to the GoTo Person for all our gripes, moans, complaints, protests, and DeservingKisses. Say Hey! Can ya handle it?

JEN: She was the first nomination, you know...by somebody who went and changed it to the guy making all the noise. That Firm offer seems lost in the product line she`s selling. My advice is, when in an election, hesitate on the speculation.

JEN: Let`s test the rest of the guest list. Let`s do this "guy thing". Now, here`s a late poster who exerted a lot of gutzy `let`s do it rights`, and he gave good explanations. I`m sold on taking the lead by establishing control, as long the right moves are collectively recognized by emerging leaders.

JAN: You`re getting too deep for me. This guy puts his picture right out there, smiles online, and focuses on the structure more than full shelves. That`s the first things first thing I like about him.

JAN: It`s the real reason we`re here. We just couldn`t resist. LOL. Some guy had a great idea and designs on how to do it and just did it. Something like this either get`s you a "are you my leader???" response, or it get`s you confirmed as the "better respect the guy taking charge" person.

JEN: The best reason to vote E, is a no-brainer. 2 out of three nominees said It`s E all the way. So, let`s give due where due is due.

Then she goes and tells the leading magnet for civility how she hopes to assist in any way possible. Muscles? And brains!

JEN: So, can we say that in a fair election, there is a natural ringer who get`s the popular vote right out front because they are seen as more receptive to the audience?

JAN: Or could it be that E started the poll, and instead of waiting to vote, not wanting to be seen voting for himself, started the peer pressure by voting for another leader and you just can`t do better than a first vote of 100%.

Who will draft the first business plan, spelling out how people become involved. How profits are earned, and how they are divided. I know it`s difficult to write. But if someone started the draft, we could start passing it and making ammendments. Is that a "points leader" task?

Read back a few pages and you`ll see that the Point Leader is just a preliminary position. No independent or final critical decisions will be made by the Point Leader. This is an effort to focus the myriad suggestions into a single understandable report for all to view and then act upon. An information protocol if you will. The Point Leader does not make the decisions about how the things will be done. Rather, the Point Leader gathers us all to the point where we can come to a decision.

I hope that puts to rest some of your concern.

I understand Vincent`s concerns. Everyone of these point leaders would do well to outline, not only a LifePlan of an overall SUN Venture Project company, as MiteyMite posted, but the start of a business plan that shows the direction this company might be going. And in anticipation of the 10 Step process inacted by the leadership, might I suggest the proposition by all three candidates of how compensation might be offered to VAs and freelancers alike. Notwithstanding the need to do this offline in an e-mail, ready to be pasted in a thread on the new The SUN Project heading Forum w/ specific threads addressing an ongoing collaboration. Such pasted propositions of the best offer for a beginning BusinessPlan write up, could very well jumpstart this venture into the successful 3-way leadership definites of take-charge management so many of the "bystanders" are looking for. I welcome the challenge of all GoldMember contacts who will play a part, to access the best minds in deciding our future. I`ll do my best with research and messaging to everyone to insure that each member is informed of progress. ~daniel~

This is the time for everybody to write down any concerns, ideas and/or issues, comments and potential suggestions.  So when it is time to voice them, we are all prepared and we will be able to braind storm the different decisions that need to be made. 

I feel that everybody who has indicated interest has every intention that  this program will  be a team effort.  I just ask everybody to be a little flexable with the whole process because there will be so many people involved  and everybody has an opinion. 

If we take our time and give lots of effort  we will be able to make this work.

Moving ahead in a such a manner that everyone knows where we are in the process is extremely important.  Participation levels are also imporant as is keeping away from the ancillary stuff.

 I`d like to ask everyone participating to log in to this site and locate SUN PROJECT #1 topics at least once every weekday for a while in order to keep any process moving along in a timely manner.  I`d like to refrain from any decision making on the weekends, if everyone is in agreement. 

1. My first step, in addition to posting here will be to create a topic notifying everyone of the same because private messaging everyone who has indicated interest just to remind them to stay tuned....  it`s too time consuming.  The post will be titled, "HEADS UP! SUN PROJECT #1"
2. My second step is to spell out how I recommend we proceed from there.  A lot of input is encouraged but it has to be organized and since it`s all coming my way....... I want to address the easiest method I could come up with for the input.  If others want to establish side threads, lets`s put that to a vote as well.  My main goal is to establish standardized methods for input as we go along.  Everyone will have a voice to gain support to expand and/or change course.

We had 80+ members indicate interest in moving this project ahead.  When assistance is needed it will be requested under the topic:

We`ll post the needs as they arise and participating members will be able to indicate their willingness to team up and assist on any given task in that thread. 

Within the newly created SUN PROJECT #1 category, if accepted, we are going to begin moving ahead using the community forums and polls in a specific manner. 

To cover all the bases, I think we should continue overall updates in this "Could We Create a Business Together" thread.  I will be asking for assistance with that at SUN PROJECT #1 ASSISTANCE NEEDED within the SUN PROJECT #1 Category... if Jeff comes back with a positive response.  If not, we`ll proceed under a category determined by vote. 

All project topics related to the SUN PROJECT #1 category, at this point, will be:

1. Determined by the community 
2. Be opened for discussion by me as determined by the community
3. Be moderated by many and by "moderated by many" I mean I`ll be asking a couple of people to assist in keeping a discussion focused through moderation.  Please take note:  no input will be censored and all contributors will be considered. 
4. Be put to polls by me as determined by the community, and through joint efforts. 

To facilitate that, activating these discussions and polls will be through my approval and are to be titled and numbered to match as follows:

Keeping this project down to a few threads will help us stay organized and focused and provide good record of our actions.  I think we all expect that the participating community WILL rise to the occasions, stand up, accept responsibility and get to task since this is an opportunity from which any paticipating member may benefit.

Well, since this is a virtual company how do I suck up to get ahead and play the political game?

   Kidding of course.  You can tell I come from a large fortune 50 company.  That`s what I like about this the most is its based on performance not who knows who.  How things should be and this has been handled very democratic which is a sheer sign of victory.  80 minds area better then one or two however the challenge is to organize a system in which we can together, seamlessly, efficiently.  Take for example www.digg.com it is most definitely a virtual business with a member community and the members vote on every product that is delivered for the customer which are stories.  This system is extremely efficient and effective.
