Just a fun poll for amusement`s sake

There seem to be a few different types of holiday decor people in the neighborhood. Some people are pretty prompt in putting up and taking down holiday decor. Others seem to leave it hanging around for months, so we`re still seeing santa and his reindeer when cupid should be hitting the scene.

Me, I like to get right to it. Mine are always down by New Year`s eve, or shortly thereafter. It always makes me a little sad, because I put a lot of effort into making the decor look nice. But it`s also nice to have my living room back to normal.

By the time Christmas is over, I look forward to taking everything down and starting a new year. I usually take everything down within a couple of days.

Catholics have a tradition of taking down all Xmas decorations by January 6th, I believe this has something to do with the time the three kings or wise men stayed. They left two weeks after the birth of Jesus and so, all decorations must be taken down by then.

And for those that did not follow tradition...

"[Goblins] were hideously ugly to begin with, and full of malice and ill will to human beings. They were supposed to live mostly underground, in mines or mountain caves, where they hoarded stolen treasure, sallying forth from time to time to frighten belated wanderers, or to work great harm to mortals who had, by some fault of omission or commission, given them the power to do so. Such power could be given, it was thought, if Christmas decorations were left up after Candlemas Day, February the second. If even so much as one leaf should be left lying in some corner of a house, a malicious goblin would have the power to enter through the keyhole and do all kinds of wicked things--set the chimney on fire, spill the milk, crack the wine bottles, smash the china, and even let loose rats and mice in the larder to eat up all the food."

It usually takes me a half an hour to take down decorations. I typically take them down before New Years. My wife is Vietnamese so the lunar calendar New Years festivities start near the end of January. The decorations the her New Year goes up next!

We pick an appropriate month and day for a SuN Holiday. Something that shouts to all the "I want to start a business" people to START!

As for myself, I do the graphic designing for all materials at the company. I began learning html when I was 14 and dabbled in graphics programs throughout high school and college. 3am would find me perched in front of the computer tweaking my personal website in notepad. I knew I was destined to have a career dealing with the web, and through networking, found this great group of people that I work with now.
