|Headline:||Design and sell artisan-crafted jewelry|
|Description:||Studio 1980 Designs started out as a prescription, not with the dream of business ownership. I had been living with Multiple Sclerosis since 1999, and in 2003, had and exacerbation that left my hands weak and uncoordinated. |
As part of the healing process, my neurologist suggested that I find an activity to do daily that would keep my hands strong. I walked into my first bead store, and the rest was history.
The creation of organic jewelry pieces using semi-precious gemstones, lampwork glass, precious metals, and artisan grade polymer clay has become a way of finding beauty in the challenges of my daily living.
I would eventually like to expand my number of employees, focusing on being an asset to my rural Arizona mountain community. My goal is to hire disabled individuals, developmentally or otherwise, to teach them a skill and give them the dignity and ability to make a living that they deserve.
