Headline:Balazs Andras Khoor is dedicated to serving his community
Description:Throughout his time studying at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Balazs Andras Khoor showed a dedication to serving the community. He participated extensively with the school's Student Legal Services department, which connects students in need with local attorneys and other sources of legal assistance. Demonstrating both commitment and skill in this area, Balazs Andras Khoor quickly rose to the position of Assistant Director and subsequently to Director.

Balazs Khoor also reached out to individuals in the broader community as a research intern with Florida TaxWatch, a nonpolitical and privately funded organization dedicated to protecting individual economic and political freedoms. In addition, Balazs Andras Khoor served for several summers as a member of the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps. To qualify for the selective program, he became certified in both cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid. He also completed annual recertification courses. He donated more than 550 hours to the organization and was honored with its Three-Year Award and promotion to First Registrar in 2005.

Balazs Khoor earned a dual Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Affairs, and then went on to earn a Master of Science in Economics. He received an invitation to join the Garnet and Gold Key Leadership Honor Society, the oldest society of its kind on campus. Membership requires academic achievement, peer leadership, and service to the University and surrounding community. He also became an active member of the Florida State University Pre-Law Society and quickly earned the respect of his fellow members, who in 2005 elected him as the Society's President. In addition, he garnered membership in Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, a brotherhood that encourages academic and career success, as well as the highest moral and ethical standards.
