| Description: | I’l keep this focused on my business history. My first real business experience was early high school, when I began developing websites for local business. I did not fully grasp how to design a website and instead opted to outsource the work to a man I had met online from India, and was introduced to outsourcing. This became quite successful, and I eventually launched a Website Hosting company from $200. Within this venture I focused on the customer relations and marketing while outsourcing the technical functions oncemore. This venture became very successful and ran for several years, growing my initial investment by over 9,000% in it’s first year. Following this success I launched several spin off companies, the most notable being in Game Servers, and continued strong relations with my customers and a considerable marketing effort. Late 2004 I sold these ventures and entered into Young Achievement Australia (YAA). I managed a team which created a unique product and sold over 4,500 units in 7 months. During this time both I and the product were prominently featured on the local newspaper, local radio and community publications; with full support of local council and the Mayor at the time. The best memory here was when I held an official launch for the product, which had over 80 people in attendance including Richard Morecroft (my keynote speaker), several local politicians including the Mayor, authors, the local radio station and journalists. The morning proceeding this launch kicked off our breakfast radio campaign, where the local radio station ran competitions and the show around promoting our product. My team ended up winning the competition, as well as many sub awards such as best Media Relations and best Marketing while providing me with a nomination for Young Business Person of the Year. Following High School I decided to test my skill by doing door to door sales. Turns out I actually enjoyed the role and became the top-selling sales person within the office within a week. Within two weeks I was promoted to a Sales Trainer and within three weeks I was managing several territories. While working for this company I was mentoring the proceeding years YAA team and was eventually nominated as Young Citizen of the Year, which I won. I have since left my sales based position in favour of retail management, while completing my Bachelor of Commerce (HR Management & Marketing) Min (Public Relations) and working on several projects of my own again. |
