Do you need to know someone to get funded? Does cold calling work?
Getting funded takes more than "knowing someone" and the importance varies somewhat with each specific situation. (amount needed, stage of development, industry, etc)
However, from our experience and that of our clients - the vast majority of equity funding comes from those within two (or three) degrees of separation. That is people you know or ones they know.
For the average person - that represents between 10,000 and 50,000 folks, depending upon whose figures you use for average.
Aside from linkedin and AG...do yo uhave any thoughts on online resources to improve those connections? It would be good to hear about them...
Anyone else with any online resources that can be leveraged?
