Several years ago, she opened a pastry shop in Southfield, Michigan. Although she worked countless hours and spent her life’s savings, the business failed when her partner had a serious injury and they struggled to keep the business profitable. Unfortunately, without a solid contingency plan the pastry shop eventually had to be sold.
