want to start up a new bussiness where i will deliver services to individuals/coporate organisations like cakes for all occassions,decorataions at event venues,catering services at events and training of pupils.
 
Kindly help with necessary things i need to know for the takeoff, planning,sales,marketing,equipment and bussiness strategy that  will help in the start up.Also kindly link me with necessary websites and information .

That is a BIG question.  I think the starting point is talking (face to face) with other entrepreneurs that have successfully grown businesses like the one you intend to create.  $10 spent on a couple of beers, goes a long, long way.

Whew, you`re looking for a lot of information.  From my point of view, the first thing that you need to do is contact your local and state government business licensing offices.   Here`s why... I know that in many places they have specific regulations for what exactly you need to have in food service businesses. 
 
Also, I would contact your local SCORE office and see if you can find a mentor who has run a catering type business to help you out...

Hi,

Yes, I agree with Deena.  I know you need your kitchen approved by some government body to offer the services you are talking about. 

How knowledgable are you with building cakes?  How many have you built in the past?  Do you have pictures?  Are you experienced enough to teach others?
