Introducing VoIP into your office
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a telephone system that uses broadband Internet connections to send and receive calls, instead of using a traditional phone line. VoIP is a type of telephone system and boasts advanced phone system features at an affordable cost. These systems are not only easy to use but helpful to maintain a busy workflow.
Using a VoIP service is similar to using your existing phone service. Making a phone call is the same; however, how the call is sent differs. Because phone calls are sent over the Internet, your voice is translated into small packets of digital information as you speak. The information is then sent to its destination, even if the recipient does not have a VoIP phone system.
By using the Internet as a means of transportation, VoIP systems are not able to tell the difference between the destination of your call and its proximity to your physical location. Thus, long distance and international calls are extremely inexpensive. This feature comes in handy for businesses that conduct a measureable amount of correspondence overseas because of the hefty savings on monthly phone bills.
