Although you can leave the current laws and regulations up to the telemarketing experts, it is important to at least be aware and understand the major laws pertaining to telemarketing to find the right call center solution.

National Do Not Call Compliance - There are specific consumer phone numbers that have been registered with the National Do Not Call Registry and other Do Not Call lists. An experienced calling service will utilize software to identify these numbers, and will generate sales leads.

TSR and TCPA - The TSR (Telemarketing Sales Rule) and the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991) are United States regulations that govern companies who use telemarketing to generate sales leads. Telemarketers must be in compliance with these rules, as well as specific State Regulations

Other - Laws governing political phone calls are not as strict as those that apply to commercial messages due to increasing issues with freedom of speech. However, many states have still banned or restricted political robocalls.

The Profession of Telemarketers also has a code of ethics and standards which telemarketers must abide by.
