"Mobile Marketing will be the next big wave in advertising" is what I'm being told. It's very hard for me to understand because I don't (or didn't) text. I'm a 60 year-old entrepreneur who is getting overwhelmed by all the technological advances taking place. However, I know trends when I see them and the cell phone is rapidly becoming the new computer. I just got a smart phone and I'm determined to learn how to use it, but it's tough to teach an old Doug new tricks.
I was introduced to a "cutting edge company" (aren't they all?) that seems to make a lot of sense to me, but I would like some input from other business people. What got my attention was the applications for Realtors, largely because I am in the real estate business (I'm an appraiser, not a Realtor). I also can see tremendous potential for those in the automobile business, restaurant business and in sales of any sort, but I would like some feedback to make sure this makes sense.
Everywhere I go I see people looking at their cell phones, surfing, e-mailing and texting. Tapping into this market could be huge. I am just starting to see advertising for "text to ....." for freebies or more information. I would like your feedback on this concept to see if it is something I want to spend time on. Have you heard of it? Would it be valuable to you to have instant contact with your customer base? Where are you advertising now that is effective? Where is the future of advertising? Your feedback is much appreciated.
